Window Cleaning Question: Whats The Easiest Way To Clean Ceiling Fans?

September 15th, 2007 Posted in Window Cleaning Q & A

Q: My customers are always asking me if I can clean their ceiling fans when I finish cleaning the windows and I hate telling my customers no, even though each fan takes me 5 to 10 minutes to clean and I don’t make much on them. I’ve gotta ask you, is there a quick and painless way to clean ceiling fans quickly?

A: 5 to 10 minutes? You most certainly are making this job much more complicated than it needs to be. There is a very quick and easy way to clean ceiling fans that should cut your time per fan down to no more than a minute.

Ceiling fan brush for window cleanersThe best (and fastest) method for cleaning a ceiling fan is to use a brush attachment that clips onto the end of your extension pole, that allows you to easily reach up and clean the blades of the fan.

There are a number of different styles of ceiling fan brushes, some made of dust attracting material, some with foam, and my favorites are the ones that are made with soft nylon bristles such as the one pictured. Ceiling fan brushes can be purchased from a window cleaning supply company or most janitorial supply stores.
