Spend The Money, Professionalize Your Image

September 26th, 2007 Posted in Window Cleaning Information

Window CleaningThere is not a day go by that I do not see some type of service professional who looks more like a bum on the street than any competent service technician.

Whether it be, saggy pants, plumbers crack, dirty clothes, greasy hair, mud covered work truck or something else entirely. These types of things hurt your company image and ultimately your business itself.

Would you want someone who looks like this in your house? Why would a customer want to hire somebody like this. The answer is they don’t, but many times its what’s available.

Because of workers like this, it is so easy to make yourself stand out from your competition just by taking pride in yourself and your company.

Having a professional image for your window cleaning business really isn’t that expensive and it doesn’t require much. Here’s a few tips to help you out:

Personal:

  • Bathe –Take a shower, don’t be the smelly worker
  • Get a haircut and shave your face or trim up your beard – don’t be scary looking
  • Wash your clothes – wear clean clothes on the job everyday.
  • Wear a belt and wear your pants around your waist, not your butt.

Company:

  • Logo - Have a logo designed for your company, put it on your work vehicle, business cards, tshirts, everything.
  • Uniform – Design a uniform for you and your employees to wear. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. Maybe your uniform is simply jeans or jean shorts and a company polo shirt or company tshirt. You can get shirts made up with your logo very cheaply.
  • Vehicle – Keep your vehicle clean and well maintained. If your vehicle leaks, then don’t park it in your customers driveway, park on the street.

Nothing I mention above is very extreme, but they are the little things that will make the biggest difference in your business. Combine a professional image with outstanding customer support and good work and you’ve got a recipe for success that can’t fail.
