Answers To Some Common Beginning Window Cleaning Questions

April 21st, 2008 Posted in Window Cleaning Information, Window Cleaning Q & A | 2 Comments »

Question: How often should you change your window cleaning solution?

Answer: As often as you’d like. If you are working only on exterior windows, then it is no big deal to have dirty water, and you can use it for a long time.

However if you are going to be cleaning interior windows, it’s a good idea to have fairly clean water handy so if you drip on the customers light carpet you don’t leave black little spots.

Rule of thumb is, if you think your water is to dirty then change it cuz it probably needs it, but just don’t get carried away with that or you’ll spend way more than you should on soap. Just use your best judgment as there is no hard and fast rule for this.

Question: I often struggle with taking off our screens, I watched your video but on many of the screens I still had to go inside to take off the screen. Is this something you run into on a regular basis?

Cleaning From A Ladder Isn’t The Only Way To Clean A Window

February 18th, 2008 Posted in Window Cleaning Information, Window Cleaning Video | 2 Comments »

In this cool photo the crew from Precesion Window Cleaning in Southern New Hampshire demonstrate a ‘different’ way to clean windows as they scrub the windows on a public transport bridge with a water fed pole while standing waist deep in the middle of a pond. Hows that for deticated window cleaners.

I will admit that I have done lots of different and crazy things over the years to clean a window, but I have never had to strap on a pair of waders and climb into the water, so these guys have me beat.

Check out the photo and leave your comments below. These window cleaners deserve a little appreciation.

How A Window Cleaning Business Survives During The Winter

Window Cleaning Business In The Winter

In some parts of the country window cleaners are able to clean commercial and residential windows year round regardless of what month it is, because the seasons in their part of the country are much milder and more constant.

Well that’s great for them, but what about the rest of us? Is the sentiment I hear expressed most often in regards to this topic. But I have good news for you. Just because its winter time doesn’t mean that your income has to die, it just means that you have to adapt and expand on the services you offer.

Before I get into describing some of the various ways a window cleaner can make money during the winter, let me remind you that while the residential market may die down during the winter months, the commercial market still continues to provide stable income. Why? Because commercial businesses need to maintain clean storefronts and office spaces in order to make them inviting for customers. This means that they need your window cleaning services as much if not more during the winter than they do in the summer.
